Cat With Shoe, For Size Comparison

I might get around to making some actual art later today. For now, I’m engrossed in playing with my digital camera, which my friend Robert fixed for me last night.

Here’s a picture of one of my cats, lying beside a shoe for size comparison. They are large cats.

Note the tilt of the ears. He’s sulking, because right before I took this picture, I kicked him off my desk, where he had been crying, purring, drooling, and shedding all over everything, in an attempt to win my affections. Enough, cat!

That’s Brady. See how the side of his face (your left, his right) is kind of smashed? I woke him up from a sound sleep when I sat down on the couch beside him to take this picture. I’m kind of mean that way.

This is the look that I get if I spend too much time on the computer, and not enough time petting cats.

I didn’t quite feel like going home the other night, so I sat in the parking lot of the QFC up the street from my place, and drew some stuff.

Painting the paintbox

This is the paintbox I bought, with the pen I always use lying beside it for scale. NOTE THE ABSENCE OF ANYTHING LIKE GRAY, and the presence of two shades of yellow (I barely need one), and a shade of turquoise which I will never EVER use.

I have since pulled out the miniature loaf of turquoise, squirted in some Payne’s Gray from my tube paints, and let it dry. Works pretty well.(Click the thumbnail for the full picture.)
